The Stories of This Vagabond

Romanian Walking Tour

Hi Gram!
What a fun day. I slept well and woke with my alarm. After doing my puzzles and journaling, I walked the building stairs and got ready for the day. Once Amber and Bob returned from their morning walk, we all had breakfast, cleaned up and headed out for our walking tour.

Diana, our tour guide, was a local who was born approximately 5 hours from here in the Soviet times. Her parents were from here but had been relocated by the government to where workers were needed. They all eventually moved back in the 90s after the Soviet Union broke up. We were joined by 3 other people all from America and it made for an inquisitive, talkative group. The tour took around 2.5 hrs and led us through old town, past churches and historic buildings and a part of the old wall from when the citadel existed.

After the tour, our whole group went to a local restaurant where some ate lunch and some of us had drinks. We talked about travel, retirement, our lives, and shared our stories. After lunch, the three of us headed back to the apartment to rest and unwind a bit. In the evening, Bob and Amber cooked a dinner that we all enjoyed, then I washed the dishes. After letting everything digest, we headed out for an evening walk in the brisk air. Back at the apartment, I showered and went to bed.
