Hi Gram!
I’m really loving Brasov. The town is very walkable, the people are friendly, it has an old world charm, and we discover new things every day. I woke and did my puzzles and journal, then Amber and I headed to the gym. Today was upper body day and I felt like I got a good workout. After getting swole, we headed home and met Bob for breakfast. He had just finished his physical therapy exercises, so it was good timing. I had my usual yogurt-based concoction and planned to make some scrambled eggs after letting that digest a little, but ended up forgetting to have the eggs.
I spent most of the day just relaxing and reading my book. The plumber came at one point but Bob and Amber handled that. It was a nice relaxing day. In the afternoon, we all decided to walk to the hypermarket, which is just a grocery store with a mall attached. This one seemed more like the Asian variety I’ve seen before with a grocery store in a mall, but they swear the mall was part of the grocery store. I wonder how they decide which is which. We went mainly for the walk and to pick up a couple of things. We walked home with three full bags of food and items we needed for the apartment, like spoons and a pillow for Bob.

The walk was smooth along wide sidewalks and plenty to see. On the way there, we all walked separately while we listened to a podcast or whatever then walked home together. It’s an idea that Amber and Bob came up with during Covid lockdown where they were suddenly spending all their time together and had run out of things to talk about. Now, they get different experiences then have something to talk about when they’re together. I think it’s a brilliant idea.

After we put the groceries away, I took a shower in the newly fixed shower and it was AMAZING! It’s the little things that make all the difference, like not having to hold the shower sprayer for the whole shower. Clean and ready, we headed to Sergiano, an old style local restaurant in the cellar of a historic building. The food was delicious! All of our entrees were perfect, and we forgave the waiter for forgetting the mushroom appetizer and soup that they ordered. Well, it was easy for me to forgive him, it wasn’t my food that he forgot! But Bob and Amber were very gracious as well.

We headed the opposite direction when we left to get a little walk in on the way home. We ended up walking through a little market in the center square and bought some pastries for dessert. Back at the apartment, Bob heated some water and made tea while Amber dished up our pastries. It made for an excellent ending to a wonderful day.
