Hi Gram!
Our time here in Sibiu has come to an end, but with the weather mostly cooperating, we built great memories! I got up early this morning to do my walk and stairs. They were setting up a market with tents and stalls in one of the squares as I walked by, so I made a note to come by with Amber and Bob later to check it out before the train. While I was walking, I looked up a few breakfast spots and narrowed it down to a cute cafe near our hotel.

I headed back to the room to finish packing up, take a shower, and be ready to check out, then walked over to the cafe to meet Bob and Amber. Let me tell ya, I made a good choice and they agreed. I made the mistake with my hungry eyes of ordering a piece of banana bread along with my eggs and bacon. The food was all delicious, but they brought me two huge pieces of banana bread, overflowing the little plate. Luckily I had friends there to help me chip away at it, so we all left full.
After swinging by to grab our bags, we took a circuitous route to the train station, checking out the market, walking up and down the makeshift aisles. Each vendor was selling a different type of tchotchke and doodad, honey, jam, painting, or other thing that none of us needed, which makes wandering this sort of market that much more enjoyable and affordable. We kept wandering past the market and found a staircase that I wished I’d found the day before, following it down to a road that led to the train station.
The train that we rode to Sibiu was an inter-regional with comfortable seats. The train on the way back to Braşov was a regional, sort of a commuter train with harder seats and a lot more people. I read my book the whole way, glancing up every now and then to see the towns or countryside sweeping by, but my butt was sore by the time we reached our destination. Once we debarked, Bob and Amber decided to walk home since they hadn’t walked much this morning, but I decided to get a car ride home. The Bolt that I ordered arrived ten seconds later and I was on my way before they’d left the parking lot.

I was so glad to get home, unpack, and relax! Once evening arrived, we all agreed on leftovers instead of the effort of another restaurant. Full, I took another long walk to burn off some of the glucose, then headed back and watched a movie before deciding to call it an early night and get some sleep.
