The Stories of This Vagabond

Adolescent Humor

Hi Gram!
What a day! This is how life should be lived. I woke up this morning a little before my alarm, raring to go. I did my puzzles and journal, then headed to the gym at 9. There were four people, including me, in the whole place (well, plus staff.) I did my upper body workout today, then headed home. I walked a different route than I normally walk and saw a cafe that made my teenage inner child giggle.

Huh. Huh. Assy Magic.

Bob and Amber were just making breakfast when I walked in, so I joined them while we discussed plans for the day. The next few days are going to be colder with rain, so we decided to go to the outdoor market today. We all took different routes walking there, listening to podcasts or whatever and met up there. I enjoyed my walk, with beautiful weather and a fun podcast in my ears.

At the market, we found most of what we were looking for – raspberries, smoked cheese, veggies for dinner, and some apples. At the end, we found someone selling mushrooms who didn’t speak English. We had a fun exchange through hand gestures and Google Translate, ending up with more mushrooms than we planned but also a fun memory. Loaded down with the goods, we took the bus home. Amber decided to make the watermelon that we’ve had for a few days into juice while Bob and I plugged away at our computers. It was a larger ordeal than she planned, having no blender. Eventually, though, we all sat out on the patio enjoying the fruits of her labor and feeling fancy and lucky, discussing our day and plans for what was next.

After a brief relaxation, we headed out to dinner at Ursul Carpatin, a local restaurant. The wind was blowing while we sat on the patio, but the food was amazingly delicious. After dinner, we stopped at a local cofetărie, a cake bakery, for some dessert. We each picked two treats from their case, then brought them home to sample. They didn’t disappoint! Moist, soft, and flavorful, probably more than I needed but I ate it with glee. Tired from the wonderful day, I headed to bed to read before falling asleep.
