Hi Gram!
Today was a bit of a lazy morning. I can’t check into the hotel in Bratislava until afternoon, which is only 2 hours away. Therefore, I decided to linger at the Vienna apartment for the morning. I had breakfast, did my morning exercises and puzzles, and finished packing. A little Google search showed me that the easiest route would be a couple of short subway rides, then a bus. Easy peasy!
I arrived in Bratislava in no time. I panicked a little when I didn’t have internet when I first got off the bus – I wasn’t sure where my apartment was – but got that solved pretty quickly. The cobblestone sidewalks and roads look charming, but they make pulling a suitcase a couple of degrees more difficult. I wish I had a shrink ray so I could just put my luggage in my pockets when moving from city to city.

I got to the apartment pretty smoothly, and when I walked in, I was blown away! I wasn’t sure if I had walked into my apartment or if this was a common area for a few apartments. The place is massive! The living room and entryway could easily be divided up to add another bedroom. The shower and tub are in their own massive room separate from the toilet and sink, and the tub was deep and long. I don’t take baths, but I know plenty of people who would give their left elbow for that bathtub. I wish I had this apartment for more than one night. I’ll barely be able to really enjoy it.

After I gawked at the apartment and dropped off my luggage, I headed out to walk around town a bit and pick up some groceries for breakfast. The town is charming, with the typical mix of old historic buildings, winding lanes, and a center avenue full of tourist restaurants and souvenir shops. I enjoyed wandering and getting a little lost, then headed back to the apartment to plan out the next day and get to bed on time.
