The Stories of This Vagabond

Better Day by Day

Hi Gram,
The past few days have been a bit of a blur. I woke up Wednesday morning feeling a little more lucid and healthy than I had for the past few days. I’m guessing that the antibiotics were working from my upswing in lucidity and energy. The day wasn’t exciting. More exercise, more chicken… I think I need a break from this routine.

Thursday was much of the same. My belly pain seems to have gone away. It had rained quite a bit so the weather was hot and muggy. That made classes that much harder and exhausting. Dinner was good, as usual, but I don’t remember much detail from the day. Just another day of exercise, sweat, repeat.

Friday was another story. I woke up early to go for my walk, but remembered I had to get to the hospital for a test. I realized that the songtaew doesn’t run that early, so asked the front desk to call me a taxi. He pointed out front and said “taxi”, which I presumed to mean I could just flag a taxi down out front. I started walking towards the hospital, keeping an eye out for a taxi but got there before I saw one. I was glad that I’d started walking so I got there on time. After the test, I decided to walk back to the hotel since it’s close and the morning was still cool. I grabbed my backpack and changed into my workout clothes, then decided that since I’d already walked two miles, I would just walk another two in the opposite direction so I’d get my morning walk in anyway. I felt accomplished, so breakfast tasted that much better.

Classes went pretty good the rest of the day. I’m getting burnt out, though. I’m going to talk to Klaus tomorrow about skipping a week. After dinner, I went to my favorite massage lady for a pedicure. It’s actually weird seeing my nails without paint for once. I got back to the hotel after that and just played on the phone. I have the CT scan tomorrow, so I’m fasting after midnight tonight. Headed to sleep in a few minutes, hoping to learn something from the CT scan.
