The Stories of This Vagabond

Days are Blending

Hi Gram,
I’m tired. The days are starting to repeat each other. Today started with a 4 mile walk at a brisk pace. We got another amazing view from atop a hill that we climbed, then saw a makeshift pond with snails on the beach. Nobody was around, so we don’t know if a kid was just having fun or if someone was collecting them for dinner.

David hung back with me and helped to motivate me when I was falling behind, which meant the world to me. I wish he would have run with the rest of the group when we got close to being back – I feel guilty that he didn’t so he could hang back with me. I appreciate his friendship and will miss him when he’s gone.

He and I got blood drawn this morning to test for pre-diabetes and testosterone levels. It took the nurse two tries to get my blood, but it was over in a jiffy. The rest of the day was a blur of working out and commiserating. The HIIT session was more doable than yesterday. I jumped rope 500 times during Muay Thai, although it took me 3-4x longer than everyone else. One of my goals is to get better at jumping rope. It’ll build my stamina and coordination. After dinner, I headed to grab my laundry and get a foot massage. The ladies all loved my toenails and Ben Franklin reader glasses. After my massage, I came back, made some mint iced tea for tomorrow, and went to bed.
