The Stories of This Vagabond

Cooler Weather

Hi Gram,
I woke up this morning hot and tired and wrapped up in the sheets and blankets. It was my first night at Carolyn’s, and I think that I ate dinner too late then used too many blankets. Anyway, I got out of bed and went for my morning walk like usual. There’s a high school across the street with a tall staircase, so I started there and did 20 flights of stairs. Then I kept walking down the street, enjoying the crisp cool air.

My friend Amy sent me a voicemail, so I called her back, then we chatted for over half an hour while I walked around the neighborhood. She and her husband are doing well. They have a trip planned in December, and she has her FI Freedom Retreat next week so she’s busy planning and getting prepared. When we got off the phone, I returned to the house and took a shower while I waited for everyone else to get up. Once we were all up, we decided to walk to Aldi to get some groceries. Abbey hadn’t been to an Aldi, and she liked it. Once we got home, we each made a little breakfast, then sat around chatting. Abbey learned how to make Carolyn’s quiche, I showed them how I tie my shoes, we all shared laughs, fruit, and stories, and I made some progress on the website.

In the afternoon, I got in a nap while they all chatted. In the evening, they all headed to watch a Twins baseball game while I stayed here and worked on my website some more. I took a break to read my book for a bit, then got sucked back into the website until late at night, much later than I planned to stay awake. I forgot to do my laundry, but I’ll do that first thing in the morning. For now, I’m headed to bed.
